Fishing for dinner and other stories…

We were so delighted to have the authors of Story Central here with us in Asia for over a week in April! Viv Lambert & Mo Choy, a most creative and fun author duo behind many bestselling series for young learners (Twist and Shout, Next Move and the latest Story Central) visited China and Japan, giving talks at Macmillan ELT Upgrade Days to over 600 teachers in Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo.

Viv and Mo also led a very dynamic demo lessons teaching “The Magic Violin” story from the Story Central series in Shanghai and in Tokyo. Just imagine how thrilled Asian young learners were so to have a lesson taught in person by the authors of their coursebook – what an adventure and motivation for them to learn English with even more enthusiasm than before! We’ll be releasing the video recording of that demo lesson shortly, so watch this space for more news.

Finally, we’re happy to say that our guests managed to find some free time in their busy schedule to enjoy a few evening walks in the buzzing areas of the three cities, and to taste some amazing local delicacies. They even had to catch their own fish for dinner in Tokyo!

We will be organizing more visits by international ELT Stars, teacher trainers and authors of Macmillan courses very shortly so keep an eye on Macmillan Asia upcoming events.
