We were so delighted to have the author Jim Scrivener here with us in Asia for a 10 day tour in October! Jim Scrivener, author behind bestselling methodology books Learning Teaching and Teaching English Grammar visited Vietnam, China and Thailand, giving talks at Macmillan ELT Upgrade Days to over 1500 teachers in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Shanghai, Beijing, and Bangkok.
Jim’s interactive session on ‘Bringing a grammar lesson alive’ supported both local and foreign teachers to make small upgrade tweaks to their lessons to help challenge learners more.
Jim was supported by a team of regional teacher trainers (John Cruft, Anna Hasper and Jake Whiddon) who delivered practical upgrade sessions on CLIL, Literacy, Learner Autonomy, Cooperative Learning and Differentiation.
Finally, we’re happy to say that Jim survived the intense schedule and even managed to find a little free time to enjoy a few evening walks in the buzzing areas of the five cities, and to taste some amazing local delicacies. See some highlights of the five-city tour in the photo gallery.
A warm Macmillan Education thank you to all the attendees who exceeded all expectations with their enthusiastic participation!
We will be organizing more visits by international ELT Stars, teacher trainers and authors of Macmillan courses very shortly so keep an eye on Macmillan Asia upcoming events.
